Food for All

Another from Katie F.:

Two interesting articles about food stamps and the WIC program.
Food stamps have now gone mainstream with more chain stores (such as Target, CVS, 7-11, Costco, BJ’s, and Sam’s Club) no taking food stamps.  It is a sign of the times. http://uspoverty.change.org/blog/view/target_takes_food_stamps

NPR has has some interesting stores recently changes to the WIC program.  Now WIC recipients can buy more than milk, eggs, juice, and baby formula. Recipients will now be able to buy fruits, vegetables, and bread.  What a novel idea!  I am quite happy at the attempt to improve nutrition.
